Corla, the Herald of Twilight is the 2nd boss of Blackrock Caverns, a crazed but powerful zealot of the Twilight Hammer Cult bent on imbuing her minions with the energies of captured dragons! While she herself is not too complicated a target to kill, the fact is you will encounter her in the middle of her imbuing ritual, and the results are potentially Deadly!
The key to this fight is the handling of 2(reg) or 3(Heroic) purple beams. These beams empower whomever they touch to evolve into a Twilight Zealot, a lethal breed of Drakonid that will quickly overwhelm your tank and very likely wipe the war party! This cannot happen.
Strategy: In order to keep the beams from evolving a minion into a Twilight Zealot, they must be physically blocked. That means 2(reg) or 3(Heroic) party members must volunteer to stand in the way of the beams. However, those who get struck by the beams begin accumulating stacks of Evolution, which, once reaching 100, will evolve even a player into the dreaded drakonid, likely leading to a wipe. The best bet is for those who are blocking the beam to move out of the way once they reach 70-80 stacks. The stacks will expire within a few seconds, and once they do, the player must step back into the path of the beam. This must be repeated until Corla lies dead at your feet!
One more thing. Occasionally, Corla will cast Dark Command. This should be interrupted, as it will cause its target to flee in terror, which, if the target happens to be one of the characters in the path of a beam, can be very dangerous.
Once these aspects of the encounter are mastered, you will find that Corla shares much in common with her weaker Twilight minions: Doomed!
