Authenticator Required!

In order to address the plague of hacked Officers looting entire guild vaults, the Makers have wisely implemented an Authenticator Required option in the Guild Controls.  As High Chieftain of a guild that has seen the recent hacking of 2 Officers in one week, I have implemented this feature.  Now, all Chieftain appointed ranks will require the attachment of an Authenticator to their Battle.net accounts.  That means anyone ranked Master and above!

With this feature enabled, I will be literally unable to promote someone past Champion unless an Authenticator is detected.  Some of the Officers have already attached Authenticators, and the system only detects Authenticators that have been attached for at least 72 hours.  As this system is new, the "counter" only started for all authenticators on Tuesday, when the patch dropped.  But have patience, comrades, sometime after 10/15/2010, your Officers will return, and we will never have to worry about a gold farmer completely cleaning out the War Chest or the Champions Hall.

Nor do you have to worry about me any longer.  It only took one hack for me to get my Authenticator.  We will be safe!  In the meantime, your Officers are still in service as Champions.

In the future, I may decide to extend this requirement to all members ranked Storm Guard or higher.  So for the sake of your guild, but more importantly, for the sake of your own account, Protect Yourself!  Follow these links, and take action today!

Go with Honor!
